Welcoming a new drummer

Live/Wire would like to announce the departure of our good friend and drummer Paul Alwin. Paul has been an integral and much valued member of the band for the last six years, but – with regret and after much agonising – he has had to bow out due to other demands and commitments. It hasn’t been an easy decision for Paul but we respect his reasons for leaving. He has worked tirelessly during his time in the band and always gave 100% off stage and on, where his power and energy drove the L/Wire rhythm section through hundreds of great shows across the UK and Europe. We wish him and his family all the best for the future.

Paul has insisted that we keep on rocking, and so we will Paul; taking over the sticks is our friend James Last who has stood in for Paul a few times over the years. We’d now like to welcome him back to the drum stool as the new full time drummer for Live Wire.

All the best Paul, and welcome aboard James!

Simon. Podge, Ed, Dan and the crew.

The Leaving Lockdown in Flames Tour 2021

After over year of chomping at the bit it seems we are finally going to be let out to play and we can’t wait!! The Leaving Lockdown in Flames Tour will commence with a headline performance at Icons Festival on June 26th in Walton on Thames and run through to the end of the year. Many of the dates are rescheduled from shows that were cancelled as a result of the pandemic so please check with your ticket supplier to see if a previously purchased ticket is redeemable (some may have been automatically refunded). There are more shows to be rescheduled in 2022 so watch this space for more dates. But, for now, click here to go to the listings for this years shows.

Live Streamed Show

On Saturday 22nd August Live/Wire and 119 Production Services will join forces to bring you a live streamed show like no other. This will be an opportunity to enjoy the sound and spectacle of our live show from the comfort of your own home. So line up a bottle or two of something good, stock up on snacks and Let There Be Rock!!

The stream will be available across our own YouTube and Facebook channels as well simultaneously being broadcast by our good friends at Icons Festival, Wannasee Festival and Bonfest on their own social media.

We are not selling tickets for access to the stream, we just want as many people as possible to come together and enjoy what we have planned. Instead, we’ll have a link set up that viewers can use to chip in a few quid, if they so desire, during and after the show. Proceeds will be split between Live/Wire, the good people at 119 Production Services (whom like many other events companies have been hit especially hard by the pandemic) and Crew Nation (a charity supporting people who work in live music and have been out of work since the pandemic began).

Shake A Leg – LOCK DOWN EDITION

Well, we have nothing better to do so we’ve knocked together a ‘Lock Down’ version of Shake A Leg to both celebrate Back in Black’s 40th Anniversary and alleviate our (and hopefully some of your) boredom. Special thanks to our FOH Engineer, Jon Hinks, for mixing the audio and Elliott Thomas for vision mixing and mastering.

COVID-19 Postponements

We hope everyone is keeping as safe and well as can be during these times. We’d initially hoped to be getting back on the road around September time but the constantly changing news, rules and guidance means we maybe looking at an even longer wait. We are doing everything we can to stay on top of rescheduling dates that haven’t or will not take place and would like to thank everyone for their patience.

We will keep the gig guide as up to date as possible as we move forward but feel free to get in touch with either ourselves, through the contact form, or your point of purchase, if you have already purchased tickets, for the most up to date news on particular shows.
